Streamline Controls so Start-up Takes One Flip of the Switch
BY AsphaltPro Staff
This week’s quick tip centers on cleaning up the control house a little bit. The control house no longer has to look like a jungle of wires vining around control panels filled with a multitude of switches.
While you’re making seasonal repairs, consider replacing manual switches with a PLC-based human-machine interface. Think about adding a monitor with a touchscreen. This makes the operator’s station much more organized and easier to work from. And it’s so much easier to start the plant if the steps are automated and tethered to a single click of the mouse!
Do you have a plant operator or manager who should’ve received this tip? Go ahead and forward it to him or her now and if more folks on your team need to sign up for these quick-n-easy nuggets of gold, the link for that is here.
