Women of Asphalt Hires its First Administrative Director
BY AsphaltPro Staff
Women of Asphalt (WofA) has announced the hiring of Arpine Baghdasarian as the Administrative Director beginning January 3, 2022. Baghdasarian will be WofA’s first administrative director since the organization’s founding in 2017.
She will be responsible for helping plan, develop, and implement WofA’s programs, marketing strategies, and communications. Prior to joining WofA, she worked in strategic business development and marketing at several companies. Most notable are her marketing efforts for the Solid Waste Association of North America, the American Association of State Highways and Transportation Officials, and the American Bakers Association.
Baghdasarian had the opportunity to develop a well-rounded skill set that includes digital strategy, branding, search engine marketing, copywriting, audience research and analysis, web analytics, social media, and mobile marketing. Although her primary focus is on digital marketing, her skill set is balanced out by successful work experience in print, direct mail, creative design, audience research, and sponsorships.
In 2015, Baghdasarian was recognized as a LAGRANT Foundation awardee for outstanding achievement in promoting diversity in the field of communications. Her academic accomplishments include earning her master’s degree in Strategic Communication from American University. She also holds a dual bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and Communication Studies from Towson University.
“Arpine’s accomplished background, leadership skills, and positive demeanor will help the Women of Asphalt organization to continue to expand effectively. The WofA Board of Trustees is excited to be hiring the first position for the organization and is confident Arpine will serve the mission of WofA well,” said WofA interim President Amy Miller.
WofA, a 501(c)(6) organization, works to increase awareness of opportunities in the industry, elevate knowledge through education and resources, and provide platforms to create supportive relationships and growth. In addition to traditional board of trustee duties, each board member serves as a Board Champion of one of the organization’s main goals, furthering mission-focused initiatives.
