LeeBoy to Join FAYAT Group in Strategic U.S.–Canada Market Expansion
BY AsphaltPro Staff
The FAYAT Group, a leading global construction equipment manufacturer based in France, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire LeeBoy, a trusted name in roadbuilding equipment. The agreement, finalized in June, marks a strategic milestone in FAYAT’s plans to expand its presence in the United States and Canada.
Known for its strong reputation and longstanding service in the industry, LeeBoy manufactures a wide range of roadbuilding products including asphalt pavers, distributors, compact motor graders, and maintenance equipment. According to the announcement, this acquisition will complement FAYAT’s global offerings and aligns with its goal to deliver enhanced innovation and support to the North American market.
“The acquisition will offer customers an even broader range of solutions, combining the strengths of FAYAT Group companies,” the press release states. Opportunities for collaboration are expected across research and development, manufacturing, purchasing, and sales—areas where FAYAT anticipates “enhanced capabilities and innovative solutions in the long run.”
While the transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals, including HSR clearance, FAYAT expects the deal to close by Q4 2025. Until then, both companies will continue operating independently.
Importantly, FAYAT Group emphasized its respect for LeeBoy’s team and leadership. “As part of the acquisition, [FAYAT] intends to keep the company operating autonomously, under the continued leadership of its current management team.” The LeeBoy brand will also remain intact. “FAYAT Group’s goal is to invest in people and resources to support LeeBoy’s continued success.”
For customers, this means continuity in service and product offerings. Following the close of the transaction, they can look forward to “an expanded range of capabilities, enhanced support, and potential innovations that will arise from the combined strengths of the FAYAT Group’s Road Equipment Division companies.”
The move reflects a broader strategic ambition from FAYAT to grow its role in the roadbuilding and construction equipment sector across North America. “By combining the capabilities of both organizations, FAYAT Group will be able to drive further innovation, improve customer service, and bring greater value to customers.”
