Brandon Lima has been named the new Executive Director of the Hawaii Asphalt Paving Industry (HAPI). His start date is August 1, 2025.
Lima brings to the position a strong combination of technical expertise, industry insight, and a collaborative spirit that aligns well with HAPI’s mission to support and advance Hawaii’s asphalt paving industry.
He currently serves as the Bituminous Laboratory Supervising Technician at the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation, Materials Testing and Research Branch, where he oversees materials testing and specification compliance —experience that provides valuable perspective on the needs of one of our industry’s key partners.
Prior to joining HDOT, Lima spent over a decade at Grace Pacific LLC, one of HAPI’s long-standing active member company. In his role as HMA Plant / Quarry QC Supervisor, he gained hands-on experience in plant operations, quality control, and the day-to-day challenges faced by our active members.
“With experience in both the public and private sectors, Brandon is well-positioned to strengthen collaboration among agencies, contractors, and consultants, and to help lead HAPI into its next chapter,” said Jon M. Young, current HAPI Executive Director. Young will be staying on with HAPI as the part-time Senior Advisor to the Executive Director until the transition to Lima is completed. “We anticipate that it will be business as usual for the rest of the year,” Young said.
