New ODA technology from Haulotte supports safer lifting equipment
Haulotte of Lorette, France, used the APEX 2026 tradeshow to showcase its Drive Confidence system with a range of innovations, including the launch of its Obstacle Detection Assist (ODA). The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) displayed its HA20 E PRO articulated boom lift for the exclusive unveiling of ODA, which is a new manufacturer-certified solution designed to reduce collision risks and protect sensitive environments.
New Safety Technology
ODA focuses on the most exposed area of the machine: the upper structure, where collision risks are highest. Using a network of intelligently positioned ultrasonic sensors, the system continuously scans the surrounding environment to detect any nearby obstacle that could interfere with the machine’s movement.
ODA is now available as a factory-installed option on the HA20 E and the Sigma 16 and delivers 4 key benefits:
- Minimized collision risks through continuous environment scanning
- Enhanced situational awareness with clear visual and audible alerts
- Maximum protection for both equipment & surrounding environment, with automatic movement cut-out before impact
- Improved operational precision in confined or complex environments

Ludivine Beraud, Europe marketing manager, listed the Obstacle Detection Assist, Pedestrian Detection Assist and Advanced Access Management as solutions in which customers showed strong interest during the APEX 2026 outing. “This positive momentum reinforces the relevance of our ‘Drive Confidence’ approach and our commitment to supporting customers throughout the entire equipment lifecycle, far beyond the machine,” Beraud said.
The Whole Package
The HA20 E PRO is in Haulotte’s PULSEO fleet, which is a 100% electric solution. It’s designed for indoor and outdoor applications.
