BY AsphaltPro Staff

General Equipment Company, Owatonna, Minnesota, has released the model 102 BITTYBREAKER™. It is a manual impact breaker/tamper designed to provide a simple alternative to jackhammers, sledgehammers and pickaxes to break concrete or frozen ground, cut asphalt, tamp dirt, chop roots, or remove ceramic tiles and brick pavers. It features a lightweight, thin barrel design; weighs 21 pounds; has a Posi-Grip handle; and includes internal piston and barrel constructed of solid steel, to produce up to 1,450 foot-pounds (1,966 N.m.) of energy per blow. The BITTYBREAKER accepts tools that have a 1.125-inch hex shank, including those from competitive manufacturers. Several chisel/spade accessories are available directly from General Equipment. An integral tool retention system on the unit helps prevent the tools from falling out during use.
