Apply Your CORR to LEED Projects
BY AsphaltPro Staff
In addition to sessions regarding construction and demolition topics that impact the recycling industry, the upcoming 23rd C&D World 2016, hosted by the Construction & Demolition Recycling Association (CDRA), will include a visit to Zanker Resource Recycling Facility. Zanker has seven recycling lines, all certified under the Certification of Recycling Rates (CORR) program.
William Turley of the CDRA provided: “The CORR program was set up to certify at what rate do facilities that accept construction and demolition materials actually recover the material. It was set up in order to circumvent sham recycling, especially that as what occurs under the various green building programs. For LEED, the largest program, facilities that have been certified under CORR can offer their customers an extra point toward LEED certification, a tremendous marketing benefit against the local competition.”
The annual meeting of the CDRA takes place May 1 through 3, 2016, in San Jose, California. For more information about C&D World, visit www.cdrecycling.org. For more information about the CORR program, including how to get certified, visit www.recyclingcertification.org.
