NSSGA Announces Environmental Excellence Award Winners, Environmental Leadership Award Recipient

The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) today announced the recipients of the Environmental Excellence Awards, which recognizes operations that actively demonstrate a commitment to the exemplary use of environmental controls and systems.
“We are thrilled to recognize the best of the best in environmental responsibility by today announcing the winners of our Environmental Awards of Excellence,” said NSSGA President & CEO Michael Johnson. “NSSGA’s members continue to show their commitment to the environment every day in their business operations. Our industry has much to be proud of in the efforts of these award winners, and we congratulate them on a job well done.”
NSSGA’s Environmental Excellence Awards were announced during NSSGA’s Legislative & Policy Forum, being held Sept. 21-23 virtually.

NSSGA also announced the recipient of the 2020 Environmental Leadership Award as Ryan Crosbie, director of Environmental Legal Compliance at CRH Americas Law Group.
Crosbie has served on NSSGA’s Environmental Subcommittee and other NSSGA Committees for several years. Crosbie’s issue expertise and understanding of EPA’s newly implemented stormwater permitting was crucial to NSSGA providing comments to EPA. His engagement and input proved invaluable to NSSGA member understanding and efficacy.
“Ryan is a great example of how important members’ specialized knowledge are to effective advocacy,” said NSSGA President & CEO Michael Johnson. “I am thrilled to honor him with this award, as his contributions have greatly impacted not just our industry but in effect the entire country as his work to improve the permit for stormwater will be reflected across every state.”
Crosbie has worked for CRH/Pike industries for 12 years and has extensive experience in permitting and environmental compliance. He has an M.S. in Geology from University of Nevada-Reno and is a professional geologist in New York and New Hampshire.
