EvoQuip Expands into Shredding with Caiman 150

EvoQuip®, a Terex brand, displayed the Caiman 150 shredder at CONEXPOCON/AGG 2026. The Caiman 150 extends EvoQuip into shredding with a compact machine designed to handle demanding recycling applications while maintaining low operating costs. It is suited to construction and demolition waste, asphalt, skip waste and more. A popular feature is its twin, slowspeed, hightorque shafts that produce up to 80,000 Nm per shaft for aggressive shredding, even where space is limited. Each shaft turns independently rather than in perfect sync, so they bite into the material at slightly different times. This staggered action keeps material moving, reduces jams, and helps the shredder work more efficiently on tough loads, according to the manufacturer.

Ergodyne Introduces Tool Belt + Suspender System

Ergodyne, St. Paul, Minnesota, offers its newest Tool Belt + Suspender system, which is engineered to reduce the daily pain points of carrying tools while helping crews meet dropped-object safety demands.

Chris Reilly, product manager at Ergodyne, spoke of working “at-height” with tool belts. “Crews are climbing with more gear, more safety requirements and more pressure to stay productive. We wanted to build a system to reduce as much of that friction as possible.”

According to Reilly, constant readjustments and pressure points on the body caused by poor load distribution “can be real focus killers…which can lead to reduced productivity and increased risk of accidents, including dropped tools and equipment.”

Dropped and falling objects on U.S. worksites accounted for over 280 deaths and approximately 50,000 injuries in 2023-2024, per the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

In addition to padded breathable construction, improved weight distribution and patent-pending pivoting suspender attachments that swivel with worker movement, Ergodyne’s new Tool Belts + Suspenders feature ANSI/ISEA 121-2023-compliant tethering points designed to help prevent dropped objects that can cause injuries, equipment damage, downtime and worse.

EDGE Innovate Launches VS750s Waste Shredder

EDGE Innovate used CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 as the global launch platform for its latest material processing innovations, introducing the new VS750s high-capacity waste shredder. The EDGE VS750s is purpose-built for large-scale recycling and waste processing applications.

It weighs 59.3 US tons. The machine is powered by a Caterpillar C18 Tier 4 Final/Stage V engine. The VS750s is available in both direct drive and electric hybrid power source configurations.

At the core of the VS750s is a heavy-duty twin-shaft shredding chamber. This configuration enables the processing of materials such as municipal solid waste, construction and demolition waste, and more, while producing a consistent output size suitable for downstream processing, according to the manufacturer. Intelligent load management continuously regulates shaft speed and torque.

Preserve the Environment and Project Peace by Covering Drains Before Sealing

While much of the asphalt industry knows we use safe products when sealing pavements, much of the public does not know this. (There are a handful of tar-based sealcoat products still allowed in some counties, but we’re going to ignore those for this tip.)

A contractor in the Northeast used a bio-based fogseal to preserve pavements on the island of Nantucket a few years ago and took an extra, unnecessary step, of cover the storm drains first. They didn’t need to cover storm drains to prevent runoff or overspray from getting into waterways because the material they used was deemed safe for the environment. But they were sensitive to the optics. Members of the public have been conditioned to fear anything unknown draining into waterways, so the crew wisely covered drains before spraying even a harmless, bio-based fogseal near them.

Do you have a preservation project coming up that will involve spraying tack, sealer, release agent or the like? Consider not just the environmental implications of the material you use, but the optics of your project preparation as well. If you need to, feel free to send this tip to a project manager on your team!

Eagle Crusher Expands TalonStack Conveyor Line

Eagle Crusher’s new TalonStack self-propelled, radial stockpiling conveyor has been designed to improve productivity and mobility while minimizing operator costs. The TalonStack 65 was on display at CONEXPO-CON/AGG, with Eagle Crusher offering a range of four TalonStack sizes.

The stackers all have variable belt speed, feed height and discharge height. The TalonStack line is available with a dual-power option that can connect to the TalonTrax or any other dual-power crushing or screening plant.

The operating lengths range from 52 feet, 3 inches to 99 feet, 3 inches. Operating heights range from 23 feet, 6 inches to 43 feet, 4 inches. The weight ranges from 10.1 tons to 23.1 tons.

John Deere Launches 844 and 904 X-Tier Loaders

John Deere, Moline, Illinois, has introduced its 844 and 904 X-Tier wheel loaders. Both the 844 and 904 X-Tier models feature the John Deere Electric Variable Transmission (EVT), which replaces the traditional drivetrain with electronically managed power. The EVT system enables single-pedal control and decouples hydraulic performance from engine speed, reducing operator input while maintaining consistent power.

The new Pile Slip Assist feature helps improve traction and bucket fill, while larger high-strength steel buckets allow operators to move more material with every pass, compared to existing P-Tier Wheel Loader models, minimizing tire wear.

Offering two modes of operation, the X-Tier loaders are designed to maximize efficiency without sacrificing output. In Standard Mode, operators can achieve up to 15% fuel savings, while Performance Mode delivers up to a 5% productivity increase for high-demand applications, according to the manufacturer.

Optional Advanced Vision System (AVS) and Advanced Object Detection features help expand visibility for the operator. AVS expands side and rear visibility beyond conventional mirrors, with two digital cameras installed on the side view mirrors to widen the field of view, while dynamic reversal projected path lines help operators visualize the machine’s reverse path based on articulation. These side views along with the rearview camera are integrated into a dedicated single display within the cab and help enhance job site awareness.

Both models are supported by John Deere Operations Center™, remote diagnostics, and a range of service and maintenance plans. They are backed by the 5-year/15,000-hour electric-drive components coverage for qualified electronic-drive components.
