Associated Asphalt tops UK’s Best Places to Work list with wellbeing and employee engagement
Associated Asphalt Contracting Ltd., Heathrow, United Kingdom, was named again in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work list, praised for its progressive approach to workplace wellbeing and employee engagement. Associated Asphalt continues its rapid upward trajectory having been recognized for the second year running as one of the UK’s top medium-sized companies to work for in the 2026 list.
Published in May by The Sunday Times in partnership with WorkL, the nationwide survey celebrates over 500 of the UK’s top employers across all sectors and sizes. The survey honors organizations that excel in creating outstanding workplaces for women, the LGBTQIA+ community, disabled employees, ethnic minorities, younger and older workers, and those offering exceptional wellbeing support.
Against the backdrop of a growing skills gap and increasing competition for talent across the construction sector, the survey also highlighted an exceptionally low employee flight risk score of just 2%, compared with an industry average of 41%.
Founded in 2014, Associated Asphalt, which has over 130 staff nationwide, continues to see rapid growth having established a reputation for operational excellence, reliability and assured performance in complex environments. Key working sectors in which they operate include airfield surfacing, highway surfacing, rail and retail carpark maintenance.
The business secured its place on the list following an independent survey assessing employee engagement, wellbeing and discretionary effort.
Among the key findings, the results highlighted Associated Asphalt’s progressive leadership culture and strong commitment to employee wellbeing, with the business achieving a 90% happiness score. In addition, 94% of employees said they are proud to work for the company, while 94% said the business genuinely cares about their wellbeing.

It constitutes the second year in a row that the business has received the highly coveted Sunday Times Best Places to Work accolade.
